Abstract

Dear readers,

It is with satisfaction and welcome feelings that I announce to the community that from the next edition of the Brazilian Business Review onwards, our current associate editor Fabio Motoki will assume the position of editor-in-chief. I wish Dr. Motoki a lot of success in this new role, and I also announce that I will become co-editor. A two year term comes two a close here, marked by many hours of work carried out by a network of collaborators without whom it would not have been possible to help the journal to take new steps, among which I highlight the insertion into SciELO. I am very grateful to the co-editor Emerson Mainardes and associated editors Bruno Funchal, Flavia Cavazotte, Fernando Caio Galdi, João Ferreira, Fabio Motoki and Márcio Machado for all the support they have always offered me. I thank the anonymous reviewers who sought to offer their time and talents to peer review articles. Finally, I thank the authors who submitted their studies to the Brazilian Business Review during this period and who relied on our work in the search of the publication process of studies which demand both their time and dreams from those involved. My thanks to everyone!

In this issue, we present six articles. We begin with the article "Staying Innovative: The Role of Past Performance, Absorptive Capacity, and Internationalization”, by Ivan Lapuente Garrido,  Ronaldo Couto Parente, Cláudio Reis Gonçalo and  Sílvio Luís de Vasconcellos. Following, we present " Capital Structure, Internationalization and Destination Countries of Brazilian Companies: An Upstream-Downstream Hypothesis Analysis", by Rafael Borges Ribeiro, Vinícius Silva Pereira and Karem Cristina de Sousa Ribeiro. The third article, authored by Adriano Stadler, Edson Andrade dos Reis, Elaine Cristina Arantes and Jansen Maia Del Corso, with the title " Study on the Perception of Faculty in the Context of Socially Responsible Initiatives of Higher Education Institutions".

In sequence, Gibson Meira Oliveira and  André Gustavo Carvalho Machado provide us with the text "Dynamics of Innovation in Consumer Services at the Base of the Pyramid". The fifth article, Adonias Evaristo da Costa Filho whose title is " What Determines the Real Long-Term Interest Rate in Brazil?". The issue ends with "The Impact of Human Resource Policies and Practices on Organizational Citizenship Behaviors", by Joel Adame Tinti, Luciano Venelli-Costa, Almir Martins Vieira and Alexandre Cappellozza.
